Do you have a RAID Array?
(What is RAID?)
RAID is an acronym for Redundant Array of Independent Disks.

In a basic sense it is an arrangement of several hard drives with the intention of increasing storage capacity and reliability. A RAID causes several independent hard drives to virtually behave as a single storage unit. This causes the individual drives to behave as one larger hard drive, encompassing the sum of volumes of the constituent drives. Simultaneously, a RAID spreads the data amongst several hard drives, thereby increasing data access reliability should 1 or more of the drives fail, as others will continue to function.

Common uses of RAIDs include high storage capacity servers, database systems, back-up terminals, as well as individuals seeking greater storage capacity and reliability for their data.
